Customer Experience Improvements for Emirates NBD Mobile App

Task

Conduct a UX research of the Emirates NBD mobile application and offer customer experience improvements based on our Design for Humans approach.

Concept

We created a visual code combining the internal processes of the development studio with the clean and informative interface with no frills. This is how we see the app for Emirates NBD. It contains visual style, a well-thought-out user flow, and gamification elements.

First Interaction

The Welcome screen design adapts to the environment when user geolocation is enabled.

Color Schemes

We developed different color schemes for each segment of the banking sector such as Retail, Priority, and Private.

Main Screen

The Home screen contains the most necessary information: total balance, all accounts and cards, bank offers, and frequent actions. Frequent actions make it easy to find the desirable information such as card and account settings, the location of the bank branches and ATMs, and more.

Smart Banner

This section features various banking services such as loans, credit cards, insurance, and brief descriptions of each. Here you can also subscribe to the bank’s investment app.

Payments

Any payments and transactions can be made on a single screen: the available ones can be found below, and the most frequent ones are at the top. Transfers via MePay are made via synchronized contacts.

Invitation

Users can invite people from their local contact list who are not yet clients of the bank.

3D Graphics

We visualised the volume of transactions for the month using WebGL technology.

Gamification

Each user has a rating that is formed based on the total balance, rewards, and financial turnover. Such a gamification element may increase monthly active users.

Achievements

Users can earn achievements for certain actions, such as making ten purchases at a sports store.

Goals

Bank clients can set goals for saving towards a desired purchase. If they are unsure about a new goal, the app will provide several recommendations.

Game

When a transaction is pending, you can play a game to kill the time.

Languages

The app supports a rich character set for multiple languages.
